2 MR fellows taken every 6 months

Selection- MCQ exam (if more than 10 applicants) + interview

If less than 10 applicants, only interview

Stipend 45k

First month is observation period.

You see OP patients and learn findings but not allowed to manage patients on your own.

You start getting retinal lasers towards the end of 1st month

You get to do lasers everyday, mostly LIO... slit lamp lasers not very common

You also get to do B scans, FFAs and OCTs on your own

Intravitreal injections are given only in the last month, with 2 OTs per week.. can expect an average of 10-15 pts.. you get only pseudophakic pts for injection, hence the low numbers.. no Ozurdex hands-on given.

ROP exposure + you pick up screening but minimal hands-on for lasers and injections given.

Uvea- good exposure to diagnosis and management, good caseload.

No phaco training.

Dept is not too hectic, not toxic

Consultants are good to work with

Work timings 8.30- 5/6 pm

No night duties/ camp duties

Sundays free

No peripheral postings

Once program becomes 1 year long, you can expect more hands-on for retinal injections and ROP lasers.
